Towing Tractors

To safely and efficiently handle the tasks asked of us by our customers, we use a system that is both safe, cost effective and easy to operate. Our specially trained tractor drivers and tractor operators have the ability to put trailers in tightest of spaces.

With specially adapted JCB Fastrac, Ford and John Deere towing tractors, coupled with a large and varied selection of site trailers, we have a winning combination, capable of meeting the strictest of site safety regulations. All of the towing Dollies are of a universal configuration, which means that they are compatible with most HGV trailers.

All J.C. Plant machines are fitted with the following safety features as standard:
  • exhaust spark arrestor
  • engine shutdown valve
  • rotating beacons
  • reversing alarm
  • foot operated trailer brakes
  • fire suppression system and seat belt

The JCB Fastrac is a very rugged and reliable vehicle. We find it adapts easily to life on a large modern construction site. With its full road going air braking kit, it has more than enough power and traction to safely move customers own fully laden HGV trailers around site. Thus allowing wagons to remain off site, helping to prevent congestion.

Using the towing couplings pictured (below left) coupled to a JCB Fastrac, or Hiab tractor, (below right) makes for an extremely cost effective way of moving 40ft HGV trailers from place to place on a construction site, regardless of the ground conditions.
